Course Description
This course explores a variety of ethical considerations related to the use of technology in the mental health field. It includes one article that discusses a broad range of digital interventions including digital phenotyping, ecological momentary assessment (EMA), mental health apps, artificial intelligence (AI) approaches, and the use of virtual reality in the mental health field. It outlines a variety of potential challenges in implementing these digital interventions. The use of virtual reality in the mental health field is more deeply explored in an article that explores ethical considerations of the use of virtual environments for the assessment and treatment of mental health disorders. Lastly, the course explores two articles that focus on the ethical issues involved in using video conferencing to provide psychotherapy.
