Course Description

LivingWorks Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is for learners who want to feel more comfortable, confident and competent in helping to prevent the immediate risk of suicide. LivingWorks ASIST prepares learners of all backgrounds to provide suicide first aid to persons at risk of suicide. The course is designed to help individuals learn how to intervene to prevent the immediate risk of suicide and provide safety-for-now.

Learning Objectives

After completing this training the professional will be able to:

• can describe suicide first aid goal and their helping role.
• aware of how attitudes about suicide affect helping.
• can describe and apply the PAL model.
• know about community resources and networks.
• more willing, confident and able to provide suicide first aid.
• can attend to own safety.
